Tom Karrel is the author and founder of LARC (Lost Art of Random Conversations). With ten thousand-plus hours of professional group facilitation and meeting strangers across 45+ countries, he helps groups and communities of all kinds strengthen their relationships through simple, powerful conversation practices.

Tom Karrel is the author and founder of LARC (Lost Art of Random Conversations). With 10,000+ hours of professional group facilitation and experience meeting strangers across 45+ countries, he helps groups and communities strengthen their relationships through simple, powerful conversation practices.

Tom has spent more than 12 years helping people connect more deeply through conversation. He leads interactive events and programs that move groups from surface-level interaction to genuine trust and connection, changing how people relate to one another.

He holds a Master’s in Public Health & International Development and certifications in Strategic Intervention Coaching and Restorative Justice. He is also the published author of The Lost Art of Random Conversations and Listen. Think. Act., a co-author of five public health research papers, and a Board-Certified Life Coach.

Tom’s work spans high school students to executive teams across public, private, and nonprofit sectors. His real expertise is creating the conditions where strangers become collaborators, colleagues become friends, and meaningful conversations happen naturally.

LARC Events are structured yet playful, with grounding exercises, shared agreements, and rotating rounds of one-on-one conversations.
